Ary’s The Musik (Music) channel was launched a couple of years ago now. After IM and later MTV Pakistan from Indus TV Network, The Musik was one of the more well rounded musik channel primarily for the youth of Pakistan.

In our website review series, today I landed up on the website.
First Impressions: The color scheme and the first look is well targeted towards the target market. Generous use of bold and high density colors make the website stand out and gives the exciting feeling, one expects from a website of this kind.

The Homepage: Despite the color scheme, it’s obvious that the channel has not taken the website very seriously. Once you are on the website, it becomes very clear that it’s website with minimal content.

Navigation: The poorest I have seen in a long time. When you try to navigate, you will just see a few symbols or icons in the navigation bar. No labels, nothing! Then when you click those icons, it’s revealed what the icon is about

Content: There isn’t much content on the website. Primarily, the website is divided into four sections. The Shows, VJs, Forum, and Downloads. The Shows link takes you to a page, which is a collage of logos of all shows. There you yourself have to assume that cliking on any one of the logo will take you to the page of that show. So I did, and it landed on a page that had the name of the show, its VJ and a contact form. Great! Then I clicked the VJs section, again a page full of good looking people, but then, no further navigation. I tried but the page did not load. The forum section takes you to a lousy forum section, which is part of larger forum on www.pakstop.com (what are they thinking?) Finally the download section, well it has almost no content too.

Suggestions: Try building a community, add a dedicated forum, get the latest gossip and buzz, and provide some interaction, program feedback, watch The Musik Channel Live … hundreds of things to come mind.
